ASHEVILLE, NC -- The Southern Conference announced today that Western Carolina?s Line Cordes was selected as the SoCon Women?s Golf Player of the Week for her performance the week of March 20.

Cordes, a freshman from Bronderslev, Denmark, tied for third in the rain-shortened Elon Intercollegiate on March 17. She shot a round of 77 at the Indian Valley Golf Course helping the Lady Catamounts win the 76-golfer, 14-team event.

In Western Carolina?s first action of the spring, Cordes fired a three day total of 228, including her second best career round of 72 to place tenth in the Bradford Creek Spring Invitational. She lowered her scores each day, shooting a 79 and 77 prior to the low-72. In that event, WCU set several school records, including the top 18-hole record, shooting a 305 in the third round.
