Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina sophomore Blaire Minter was selected as the Sothern Conference's Women's Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 10-16, sharing the weekly award with Wofford junior Alex Rankin.

The honor is the first weekly award for Minter, who was an All-Southern Conference selection as a freshman while also garnering SoCon Golfer of the Month accolades a year ago.

Minter and Rankin tied for third place at the Low Country Intercollegiate last weekend on the South Course of the Moss Creek Golf Club at Hilton Head, S.C., an event the Catamounts won for a second-consecutive season. Minter, who was tied atop the individual leader board after the opening round, followed a first-round, two-over 74 with 77 in round two at the par-72 course to finish at 151. The third-place finish was the best this season for Minter.

Minter and Rankin were two were the highest SoCon finishers in the event which features 75 golfers in total.

Western Carolina returns to action on March 21-23 at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate, hosted by the College of Charleston at the Pinehurst #6.
