STOCKBRIDGE, Ga.- The Western Carolina women's golf team finished round two of the John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate just one stroke out of first place behind the University of Miami at the Eagles Landing Country Club Tuesday. The team's two-round score of 596 is the second lowest on WCU's all-time list.
The Catamounts relinquished their round one lead just slightly as the team shot a 304 in the second round. Miami shot a 296 for the day to give them the two-round total of 595. The closest team behind WCU is Southern Mississippi, six strokes behind with a 602.
Miami's Camilla Holland leads the individual race after day two with a 139. Leading the way for the Lady Cats is freshman Ashley Hovda, who recorded a 146 after two rounds and is currently in fourth place. Her score ties for third on WCU's all-time individual two-round list.
The third and final round of the tournament kicks off Wednesday morning.
