Palmetto Intercollegiate - First & Second Round Results

Western Carolina carded rounds of 300 and 306 for a 36-hole score of 606 in ninth-place entering Tuesday's final round at the Palmetto Intercollegiate being played at the par-72, 5,916-yard Oak Point Golf Club. Senior Desiree Karlsson paced the Catamounts with a one-over 145, shooting even-par 72 on the opening 18 with a one-over, 73, in the second round for a score of 145.
The final 18 holes of the 18-team, 54-hole event will begin with a shotgun start at 9:00 am. The Catamounts will start on the seventh through the ninth holes.
East Tennessee State shot 583 on Monday to lead Maryland by three strokes entering the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Campbell is third, eight strokes off the pace at 591, followed by Kennesaw State in fourth at 594 with East Carolina and Georgia State tied for fifth at 598, 15 strokes in arrears.
Maryland's Jessie Hollandsworth blistered the field on Monday, shooting rounds of 69 and 68 for a seven-under 137 to lead by six strokes over ETSU's Sinead O'Sullivan, who followed up an opening round 74 with a three-under 69 to shoot one-under, 143.
Junior countryman, Josefine Sundh, was five strokes behind her teammate, Karlsson, tied for 28th after consecutive rounds of 75 for 150. Freshman Swede, Malin Jansson, shot 154 (75-79) to stand in a tie for 43rd, while sophomore Blaire Minter is tied for 71st at 159 (80-79). Rounding out WCU's scorers is senior Tiffany Schisler, tied for 76th overall at 160 (78-82).
The final round is slated for a 9:00 am shotgun start on Tuesday morning.
