Waynesville, N.C. - Western Carolina freshman Line Cordes won the individual title at the Great Smokies Women's Intercollegiate. She broke the WCU individual round record with a score of 71 and the 36 hole record with a score of 146 (75-71). She led the team to its lowest ever two round total of 624.
Johanna Lundberg had her third consecutive top ten finish with a 36 hole total of 151 (73-78). Team captain Rebecca Twiner finished 21st with a total of 154 (76-78). Rounding out the WCU scoring was senior Mary Faulk with a 175 (86-89) total and Meredith Beck with a 180 (93-87) total.
The final round of the Great Smokies Women's Intercollegiate was completed today at the Waynesville Country Club in Waynesville, N.C. The tournament was won by Elon University with a team score of 612 (307-305). The runner-up team was Coastal Carolina with a score of 613 (305-308). Western Carolina finished sixth with a score of 624 (310-314).
