Greenville, N.C. - The Western Carolina women's golf team finished round three of the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate with a 298, the team's second lowest team score ever, to finish in second place with a 913, which shatters WCU's top three-round score by 18 strokes. East Carolina went on to win their own tournament with a three-round score of 905.

The field leader after two-rounds, Becca Twiner, shot a 73 for the day to finish in second with a 218, breaking Western Carolina's top individual three-round score (227) by nine strokes. Line Cordes came in lower than the previous school record, shooting a round-three 72 to give her a total of 225 and a fourth place finish. The two were among those named to the all-tournament team for their performance.

Johanna Lundberg shot a 78 for the day to tie for 26th with a 237 tournament total. Ashley Hovda finished the tournament in 32nd place after shooting a 75 for the day and an overall score of 238. Brandy Andersen shot an 81 in round three to give her a 239 total and a 33rd place finish. Meredith Beck, competing unattached, finished in a tie for 74th with a 265 after shooting a 85 for the day.

The Lady Cats return home to prepare for their own Wachovia - Great Smokies Intercollegiate, set for next Monday and Tuesday, October 21-22, at the Waynesville Country Club.
