Lexington, Ky. - The Western Carolina women's golf team improved by seven strokes on day two of the Wildcat Invitational, held at the University Club of Kentucky, and are in seventh in the 12-team field after 36 holes.

Ashley Hovda and Lucinda Davies continue to lead the Cats, each shaving two strokes off their day one scores. Hovda has a 36-hole total of 154 to tie for 13th, while Davies has a total of 156 to tie for 17th.

Mississippi State retained its first round lead with a 601 for 36 holes. The teams will conclude play with 18 holes on Sunday.
