Western Carolina University, the leader after day one, shot another solid round on the final day of competition to capture Belmont University's Lady Bruin Invitational Tuesday afternoon at the Nashville Golf and Athletic Club.
The victory marks the second medalist honor for the team in just three tournaments this fall, winning the Green Course title at the Unlimited Potential Baytree Classic earlier this month.
The Lady Catamounts finished with a team score of 662, 15 strokes ahead of second place Appalachian State and 19 shots ahead of third place Birmingham-Southern.
WCU placed four players in the top 20, including overall winner Rebecca Twiner. The sophomore shot rounds of 76-75 with a score of 151. Freshmen Johanna Lundberg and Line Cordes finished tied for fourth at 166, while Mary Faulk tied for 19th (179).
Western Carolina will return to action Oct. 15-16 at East Carolina's Lady Pirate Fall Intercollegiate, before hosting the annual Great Smokies Women's Intercollegiate Oct. 22-23 at Waynesville Country Club.
