Brentwood, Tenn. - The Western Carolina women's golf team leads the pack after the first day of the Lady Bruin Invitational. WCU has a first round team score of 327, ahead of Southern Conference rival Appalachian State (334).

Sophomore Rebecca Twiner finished the day in first of the 40 golfers with a score of 76. She is followed by freshmen Johanna Lundberg and Line Cordes. Lundberg is third in the tournament with a score of 78, while Cordes is 11th with a first round score of 86. Senior Mary Faulk shot 87, good for 12th and freshman Meredith Beck shot 91, good for 23rd.

The Lady Cats will compete in the second and final round Wednesday, September 26.
