WAYNESVILLE, N.C. - The second round of the 11th-Annual Great Smokies Intercollegiate, presented by the Wolf Creek Tree Farm and Nursery of Tuckasegee at the Waynesville Inn - Golf Resort and Spa, and hosted by Western Carolina women's golf, was cancelled due to heavy rains in the Western North Carolina area. The Catamounts and Elon University were named Co-Tournament Champions, shooting a team combined 286 in the first round.

Due to the shortened tournament, there were was also a four-way tie for the Individual Champion. Western Carolina's Malin Jansson and Tiffany Schisler, playing as an individual, tied with Elon's Tara McFadden and William & Mary's Carolina Sweet, each shooting a 69, for the top honors.

William & Mary shot a team score of 288 and earned the overall runner-up title. Runners-up individually were William & Mary's Morgan Stepanek and UAB's Lindsay Taylor.

All-tournament selections included Western Carolina's Desiree Karlsson, SCAD's Katrina Ruest, St. Leo's Anna Riss and Elon's Kelsey Johnson and Diana Davis.

Western Carolina will return to action on September 24-27 at the Sea Trails Intercollegiate at Sunset Beach, N.C.
