Final Stats
Myrtle Beach, S.C. - The Western Carolina women's golf team won the Green Course Championship at the Unlimited Potential/Baytree in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The Lady Catamounts shot their lowest 54-hole total of 973 (330-322-321). They entered the Green Course Championship with a nine shot lead and had increased it to 14 by the days end.
Leading the Lady Cats was sophomore Rebecca Twiner, who placed second with rounds of 79, 80, and 76. She was followed by freshman Jo Lundberg placing eighth with scores of 81, 81, and 78. Freshman Line Cordes finished 11th shooting rounds of 83, 79, and 83. The trio all posted scores that rank in the top five 54-hole totals in WCU history. Twiner's round of 235 was the second best 54-hole total ever recorded by a Lady Catamount.
Rounding out the scoring for Western were senio Mary Faulk and freshman Meredith Beck. Faulk shot 253 (87-82-84), who placed 32nd, while Beck shot 279 (96-88-95) placed 65th.
The Lady Cats will travel to Radford for the Draper Valley Lady Highlander September 17-19.
