Charleston, S.C. - The Western Carolina women's golf team slid from fourth to sixth place after day two of the Southern Conference Women's Golf Championships being held through Tuesday at the Wescott Golf Club in North Charleston, S.C.
WCU has three players in the top 20 of the tournament. Freshman Line Cordes leads the way for the Catamounts today, sitting in a tie for eighth place with a 153 (76-77). Sophomore Rebecca Twiner is in a tie for 13th with a 156 (72-84). Freshman Johanna Lundberg moves into a tie for 19th with a 159 (82-77).
Furman maintained hold of the first place lead after round two with a team score of 597. Individual leader Brandi Jackson shot a 72 to help the Furman Paladins stay ahead of UNC Greensboro for the top spot.
The final round of the three-day tournament continues tomorrow (Tuesday) at Wescott Golf Club at 7:45 am.
