Richmond, Ky. - The Western Carolina women's golf team finished in fourth place after the final day of play at the Eastern Kentucky Classic in Richmond, Ky. Western's team score of 955 breaks the WCU three-round tournament record, set at the Lady Pirate Invitational in October, by four strokes.
WCU had two players finish in the top 10 of the 87-golfer, 15-team field. Freshman Line Cordes finishes tied for sixth after shooting a 233 (80-76-77). Freshman Johanna Lundberg ends in a tie for tenth at 234 (75-78-81).
The University of Toledo took home the first place trophy with a team score of 942 (315-313-314). Samantha Fox of Austin Peay led the field throughout the tournament finishing in first overall with a 222 (72-78-72).
The Catamounts now begin preparations for the Southern Conference Tournament, which begins on Sunday, April 21 in Charleston, S.C.
