Glen Allen, Va. - The Western Carolina Lady Catamount golf team carded a 307 in the second round of the Lady Spider Invitational Saturday to move into fourth place with a total of 617, just five strokes behind third place Coastal Carolina and 16 stokes off the lead. UNC Wilmington overtook James Madison for first place after day two by firing a 304 for a two-day total of 601.

On the move is WCU sophomore Brandy Andersen who shot a 72 for the day to bring her two-round total to 150, just seven strokes behind tournament leader Amelie Farrah of UNCW. Andersen moved all the way to seventh place from 22nd. Senior Becca Twiner repeated her first round performance by carding a 76 for a two-round score of 152 to tie for 11th. Rounding out the top 20 is WCU sophomore Ashley Hovda in a tie for 19th with a 155 (77-78). In a tie for 35th is freshman Bianca Melone with a 161 (79-82) and in a tie for 47th is sophomore Erika Danford with a 167 (86-81). Playing individually for the Lady Cats is senior Meredith Beck with a 175 (82-93).

Final round action gets underway on Sunday at the Hunting Hawk Golf Course as the Catamounts look to make their move once again.
