WALLACE, N.C. - Western Carolina's women's golf team is tied for fifth place, shooting a 613 after two rounds, at the Lady Seahawk Invitational hosted by UNC Wilmington at the 6,073-yard River Landing Golf Club.
Senior Bianca Melone is tied for fifth place individually, shooting a 73 in the first round and a 75 in the second round, for a two-round total of 148. Malin Fryk is also in the top-10, tied for 10th after a shooting a two-round total of 149.
The Catamounts are tied with Campbell University and are 11 strokes behind East Tennessee State who shot a 602 after two rounds. Host UNC Wilmington leads the tournament shooting a 587, including a school-record 284 in the second round, to lead East Carolina (595) by eight strokes.
The 54-hole event concludes on Tuesday morning.
