Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate FINAL Results

Western Carolina carded its best round of the three-day tournament with a final round 309 as a team on Sunday, finishing 14th overall at the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate at the Forest Hills Golf Club.
UT-San Antonio registered a wire-to-wire victory on Sunday, their third overall of the season. The Roadrunners stretched their four-stroke advantage entering the final round, finishing the tournament with an 8-over 296 and posted a six-shot win over event host, Augusta State (886). Purdue (887), Kennesaw State (900) and East Tennessee State (906) rounded out the top five.
Purdue's Paula Reto, last year's tournament runner-up, fired an 8-under 64 to establish a new single-round tournament record and claim a 10-stroke victory over Augusta State sophomore Casey Kennedy. Reto's 54-hole total of 9-under 207 (75-68-64) is second only to Kennedy's 11-under 205 she shot last season as a freshman.
Swedish-born freshmen Sofie Kvarnstrom and Maria Kjelldorff paced the Catamounts in the event, both finishing with a three-day total of 237, placing in a tie for 51st. Kjelldorff carded her tournament-low round of five-over, 77, to advance into the tie for 51st, while Kvarnstrom shot eight-over, 80, to finish tied with her classmate.
Kjelldorff birdied her opening hole on the par-5, No. 17, but struggled with a triple-bogey on the par-4 18th to move to the front nine at two-over. She played the remainder of her 16 holes at three-over with three bogies. Kvarnstrom carded nine bogies with one birdie on her final 18 holes.
A third freshman, Katy Kile, finished tied for 56th, shooting 238 for the tournament after pacing the squad after Friday's opening round. Senior Blaire Minter placed tied for 58th with a three-day total of 239, closing her tournament with a six-over, 78.
Junior Michelle Bello carded a team-low round on Sunday of two-over, 74, advancing to finish tied for 63rd with a tournament score of 241. Bello countered four bogies with a pair of birdies, both coming on the front nine in her final round.
Western Carolina returns to action on March 26-27 at the Lady Panther Intercollegiate, hosted by Georgia State at the Eagle's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Ga. WCU finished eighth in the event a season ago.
