Tega Cay, S.C. - Western Carolina women's golfer Kandy Carland placed fourth at the Shamrock Invitational and the Catamount team, playing without two regulars, ended the tournament in eighth place at the Tega Cay Golf Club.
Carland shot a 79 in the second day and ended the tournament with a 36-hole final total of 156. As a team, the Catamounts shot 687 and was three strokes behind High Point University. Winthrop won the tournament shooting 642.
