Greenville, N.C. - Western Carolina shot team rounds of 319, 318, and 305 to finish in fifth place at the Bradford Creek Spring Invitational Tuesday with a 54-hole score of 942, a new Catamount record. Sixteen teams participated in the invitational held March 11-12.

This was the first event of the spring for the Lady Catamounts, and a record setting one as well. In addition to breaking the 54-hole school record, the team broke the top 18-hole record, shooting a 305 in the third round. Their round of 318 ranks ninth in the WCU record book, and their round of 319 ties for 10th.

Also breaking a WCU record was freshman Line Cordes, who shot a 72 in her final round for a new 18-hole individual record. She finished in 10th place overall shooting rounds of 79, 77, and 72 for a total of 228. Freshman Johanna Lundberg placed 11th for the Catamounts with individual rounds of 78, 77, and 76 for a total of 231. Sophomore Rebecca Twiner finished tied for 17th for Western shooting rounds of 77, 81, and 76 for a total of 234.

The Lady Catamounts return to action this weekend, March 16-17, at the Ellon College Invitational in Burlington, North Carolina.
