Tampa, Fla. - The Western Carolina women's golf team, led by sophomore Ashley Hovda, shot a 320 in the final round of the NIU Snowbird Classic to finish fourth for the tournament. Hovda ended up with a two-day total of 156 (77-79) to tie for 12th overall.
Sophomore Erika Danford improved her game by five strokes after shooting an 84 in round one to fire a 79 for the day to tie for 24th along with teammate Becca Twiner (81-82). Brandy Andersen tied for 21st with a 160 (80-80), while Bianca Melone rounded out the group with a 169 (83-86).
The Catamounts head to Citrus Springs, Fla., for the Lady Herd-El Diable Collegiate tournament Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 15-16).
