Western Carolina Women's Golf Posts Fourth-Place Finish at Administaff Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate

Augusta, Ga. - Western Carolina slipped one spot in the final standings, finishing fourth after Tuesday's final round of the Administaff Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate hosted by Augusta State at the Forest Hills Golf Club. Junior Josefine Sundh paced the Catamounts in the tournament, advancing three positions in the individual finishing order to place in a three-way tie for sixth. Sundh carded a three-over 75 to move from a tie for ninth-place after Monday's first and second rounds. Coastal Carolina, which led after two rounds played on Monday, claimed the overall team championship by shooting 891 over the 54-hole event to win by 15 strokes over host Augusta State (906). UNC Wilmington placed third at 926 with the Catamounts fourth just five strokes in arrears at 931. Middle Tennessee State rounded out the top five with a three-round score of 933. Behind Sundh, sophomore Blaire Minter matched her opening round, five-over 77 on Tuesday to finish tied for 13th with a score of 230, while freshman Malin Jansson, who led WCU after the opening two rounds, came home with an 81 to finish one stroke behind Minter alone in 15th at 231. Western Carolina's lineup was rounded out by senior Desiree Karlsson in a tie for 57th (248) and sophomore Rachel Nelson tied for 61st (249). Jansson ranked tied for second in the tournament after scoring par on 34 of the 54 holes. Sundh, Minter and Nelson each shot two-over on the par 3 holes during the three-round, two-day event with Minter also tying for second in par 5 scoring at four-under. Tiffany Schisler, playing as an individual, advanced nine positions in the final standings to finish tied for 57th with a three-round score of 248. Western Carolina's next event is the Low Country Intercollegiate, which it will host on the South Course at the Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C.
