Pair of WCU Women's Golfers Named WGCA All-American Scholars

Notes: Enters her senior season ranked sixth on Western's all-time career scoring average ... During the summer prior to her senior year, Melone qualified for the United States Women's Amateur Public Links Championship (USWAPL), which was held at the Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo, Colo. (finished tied for 91st with a two-round 159).

2005-06: Again improved upon her finish at the SoCon Championships, finishing tied for second in the rain-shortened event with a two-round score of 142 (71-71) ... Her team-leading, second-place finish at the SoCon Championship was her career best and earned her All-Southern Conference tournament honors ... In the fall she competed in six events with 14 rounds ...In the spring she competed in five events with a total of 12 rounds ... Led Western to a third-place finish in the South Alabama Lady Jaguar Invitational with a ninth-place finish, carding a two round total of 150 (77-73) ... Was named Scholar All-American by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA).

2004-2005: Finished 10th at SoCon Championship, marking her career best finish at the event ... Dropped her average below 80, moving up to rank 6th on the WCU career scoring average list after her sophomore season ... Tied her season low of 72 in the rain shortened Wachovia/ Great Smokies Intercollegiate ... Tied her career-best individual finish at the same event, finishing tied for second in Waynesville ... Placed in top three team scoring in seven of the team's 10 events ... One of two Catamount golfers named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Division I All-American Scholar team, joining former teammate, Brandy Andersen ('06).

2003-2004: Finished in second place overall finish at the Sea Trail tournament with a two-round score of 149 ... Finished out the fall in the top first through third positions for Western, including leading the Cats at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate, tying for 24th with a 232 after three rounds (75-80-77) ... Dean's List Fall of `03.

High School: Three time all-county selection... Team captain, freshman, junior and senior year... Her team finished as district champs three years in a row, regional champs three years in a row and state runner ups sophomore and senior years ... Was the Alachua County Amateur champion and a High School All-American in 2002 ... Represented Florida at the Junior World Championship in San Diego, Calif., in 2001.
