Bring New Unwrapped Toy for Free Admission to Lady Catamount Game Sunday

Dec. 4, 2008

CULLOHWEE, N.C. - Catamount Athletics has again partnered with the Jackson County Christmas Store to provide toys and clothing to local families this holiday season. The community is invited to participate in a special Christmas Store promotion at this Sunday's Western Carolina women's basketball game against Middle Tennessee at 4 p.m., as anyone who brings a new, unwrapped toy to the will get one free admission. All items collected at the gate will go directly to the Christmas Store.

Now celebrating its 21st anniversary, the Jackson County Christmas Store provides the annual gift-giving experience to local parents who might otherwise not be able to afford presents for their children. This local non-profit organization has experienced tremendous growth since its beginning twenty years ago when it helped 23 families provide gifts for their children. During last year's holiday season, the program benefited nearly 700 children.

For more info about the Christmas Store call Wanda Kidd at (828) 293-5138 or Elaine White at (828) 293-5785. For info about Catamount Basketball call the WCU Athletic Ticket Office at (828) 227-7338.
