Traveling to Minnesota was a great experience. We challenged ourselves by playing two talented basketball teams and also got to do something else I love--shopping! I come from a small town and attend school in an even smaller town so when we first arrived I was fascinated by the city. As soon as we got to our hotel, we were off again to the Mall of America. The Mall of America is huge. We were there for a few hours and I don't think we made it through even a fourth of that place!

Ok, so enough with the shopping and back to business. Our first game was on Friday against the University of Minnesota Gophers. The Williams Arena is big and the fans that filled its seats were very involved in the game. From the beginning they were yelling, clapping and cheering. The entire game was a battle. We all wanted that game more than anything but Minnesota went on a run late in the second half and we lost 70 to 67.

For those who may not know, away game days are all about business. Even though we were tired and still a little disappointed from the night before, we woke up at 8 a.m. the next morning to watch film on our next opponent--Louisville. Following film, we went to shoot around practice and then to our pre-game meal.

Once we got back to the hotel, it was time to pack up and head to the gym. The game against Louisville was fun. We had something to prove and we did winning 77 to 72. It was challenging but knocking off a ranked team felt great. Though we were several states away, I want to thank the parents and family who came to Minnesota to support us. The team also appreciates all the calls, text messages and emails sent congratulating us on our win. Go Cats!
