Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina men's and women's basketball teams will start regular season play for the 2000-01 season.
The men's basketball team will begin the season on the road at the America's Youth Classic this weekend hosted by Vanderbilt. Also participating in the tournament is St. Joesph's, who WCU will play Friday, November 17 at 9:00 pm and South Carolina State.
WCU will take on Vanderbilt Saturday, November 18 at 7:00 pm and South Carolina State Sunday, November 19 at 5:00 pm.
The women's basketball team will travel to Rock Hill, S.C. where they will play Winthrop Saturday, November 18 at 4:00 pm.
Both teams will return for their first home contest Tuesday, November 21 for a double-header. The women will play Southern Conference foe Furman at 6:00 pm while the men will play Lee at 8:00 pm.
