CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's basketball (1-1) heads on the road this weekend to face Coastal Carolina (1-1) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at HTC Center in Conway, S.C.

The match-up with Coastal Carolina will be the third straight from the Big South Conference Western Carolina will have faced to start the season. The Catamounts are 1-1 against Big South Conference opponents, having defeated UNC Asheville 58-45 before falling to Campbell 55-40 in Cullowhee, on November 12.

The road game with the Chanticleers is the second in seven days for Western Carolina and the Catamounts' last away game until December 19. Western Carolina will play its next five games after playing at Coastal Carolina, at home in the Ramsey Center.
Coastal Carolina has won the last two meetings, including a 66-56 win in Cullowhee on November 22, 2011. Western Carolina holds the advantage, overall in the 10 meetings between the two teams with a 6-4 record over Coastal Carolina in the series.
In its last outing, a 55-40 loss to Campbell, Western Carolina had a pair of players score in double figures. Junior guard Rena Wakama came off the bench to lead the team with 14 points while sophomore guard Ali Lane added 10.
