Hoops, Championship Women's Soccer Slated for Special Edition of 'In the Litterbox' on Tuesday

Nov. 11, 2008

Cullowhee, N.C. - The 2008 Southern Conference Women's Soccer Champion Western Carolina Catamounts headline a special Tuesday night edition of "In the Litterbox," which will air at 7:00 pm on WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5. Head coach Tammy DeCesare and the entire squad will be on hand during the hour-long broadcast as they reflect on the program's second conference title, and look ahead to Friday night's match-up with North Carolina at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill.

Also, just days before their respective teams take to the hardwood against perennial powers North Carolina and Connecticut, WCU head women's basketball coach Kellie Harper and men's basketball leader, Larry Hunter, will stop by for in-studio interviews.

Amidst its fourth season, "In the Litterbox," an interactive sports talk show that focuses on WCU Catamount athletics, normally airs weekly on Wednesday nights on WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 in Cullowhee. Each week includes recaps of WCU current events, as well as in-studio interviews with Catamount personalities. Fans can also listen over the Internet at www.WWCUFM.com and can participate in the show by calling in at (828) 227-7173.

The show is hosted by Daniel Hooker, Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations, with co-host Greg McLamb of the Catamount Sports Network and is produced by station student general manager, Aaron Michaels.

WWCU-FM continues to serve as the Flagship Station of Catamount Athletics this season, broadcasting Catamount football, men's and women's basketball, and Catamount baseball, with select softball broadcasts. WWCU has also been a partner with WCU Athletics in broadcasting the SoCon Women's Soccer Championship (2005, '08) and NCAA tournament appearance, as well as the first-ever Catamount Softball games.
