HARPER INTERVIEW ON CATAMOUNT TRACKS PODCAST

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina Head Women's Basketball Coach Kellie Harper sat down with the Catamount Tracks Podcast to talk about the first week of preseason practice.

The Lady Catamounts began practice October 17 and is eyeing an exhibition game with Brevard on November 8 at 7 p.m. in the Ramsey Center. For now, the team is transitioning from drills to live play.

Harper talks about how practice is going, the importance of team chemistry, how the four freshmen are doing, the returning player's progress and preparing for the 2008-09. Western Carolina opens the season November 14 at 7 p.m. with a preseason WNIT match-up with North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Fans interested in making the trip to North Carolina should contact the UNC ticket office.

Harper and men's basketball coach Larry Hunter will be in Charlotte, N.C. for the Southern Conference basketball media days Thursday. The SoCon coaches will meet with the media and the preseason all-conference selections and polls will also be released.
