Cullowhee, N.C. -
Even though all of the tickets for Western's reserved seats have been sold out for Sunday night's NCAA Women's Basketball Championship game between the Lady Cats and the Lady Vols in Knoxville, you can still enjoy the action at several other locations.
Western's Office of Student Affairs is sponsoring "Late Night with the Lady Cats" at the A.K. Hinds University Center. Beginning at 9:00 pm Sunday evening, the big screen in the third floor Theatre and television monitors in the Grand Room and Illusions will be tuned to the game on ESPN2. There will be free popcorn and pizza, courtesy of the UC, Student Government Association, and Resident Student Association. The event is scheduled to end at midnight.
If you can't make it to the UC, you can listen to Western's game with the University of Tennessee on the radio. Brandon Stephens and Steven Crumpler will carry the Catamount Sports Network (CSN) banner on three Western North Carolina stations: WWCU - 90.5 FM on campus and in Cullowhee, WRGC - 680 AM in Sylva, and WNCC - 96.7 FM in Franklin will broadcast the contest beginning at 9:00 pm on Sunday. Fans can also access the live broadcast feed online at www.wwcufm.com and at the official home of the Catamounts in cyber space, www.catamountsports.com.
National television coverage of the entire tournament in Knoxville begins at noon on Sunday on ESPN2. Details are available at ESPN.com.
