Cullowhee, N.C. - Freshman John Robertson (track and field) and junior Tiffany Hamm (women's basketball), were named the Arby's/Catamount Student-Athletes of the Month for February, the Western Carolina athletics department announced today.

Robertson, a Greensboro, N.C., native, was named the Southern Conference Male Freshman of the Year at the conference Indoor Championships in February. He was the champion of the men's 800 meter run, coming in at a time of 1:52.11, a personal best. Robertson was a part of the winning Distance Medley relay team at the SoCon meet and was a member of the DMR team that set a school record at the Indiana Invitational, coming in at 10:05.52. He was also named All-SoCon in the men's 4 x 400 meter relay.

Hamm, a Harlan, Ky., native, averaged 13.0 ppg and 6.0 rpg for the month of February. She posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards in the win over conference leader Chattanooga on Feb. 6. She finished out the month with a career-high 28 points against league rival Appalachian State to help the team to its 20th win of the season. Hamm shot 55 percent on 11-of-20 from the field and 83.3 percent from the line on 5-of-6 shooting. For the month, she shot 50 percent from the floor (42-84) and 72.7 percent from the charity strip (16-22), adding 12 assists, six blocks and two steals.
