Cullowhee, N.C. - Just over a week after capturing the 2005 Kyocera Southern Conference Championship, the Western Carolina Lady Catamounts will find out where they will be dancing in the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship. The annual selection show, aired by ESPN on Sunday, March 13 at 5:00 pm, will unveil Western's seeding, determining first/second round location and who will await them there.
In keeping with tradition, the Athletics Department, in conjunction with Student Affairs, will host a selection show party at the theater on the third floor of the A.K. Hinds University Center in Cullowhee. Festivities, which will be open to the public, will kick off at 4:00 pm with food and drinks in the lobby and will culminate with the announcement of seeding live on ESPN.
Head coach Kellie Harper and the SoCon Champion Lady Catamounts will be on hand and will address those in attendance. There will also be highlights from the 2004-05 season, all leading up to the selection show.
After the pairings have been announced, the Southern Conference Championship game that was produced and aired by C-SET will be shown in the theater.
WCU Ticket representatives will be on hand with information for purchasing first/second round tickets at the designated location. The Ticket Office will also be open by phone from 6:00pm - 8:00 pm Sunday night. Fans can pre-order tickets by calling 1-800-34-GOWCU. The ticket office will resume regularly scheduled hours of operation, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, on Monday morning to take orders.
