Final Coaches' Luncheon of Regular Season Scheduled for Tuesday

Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina will hold its final scheduled Catamount Basketball Coaches' Luncheon of the regular season tomorrow (Tuesday, March 5) at O'Malley's Bar & Grill in Sylva. The event begins with a meet-and-greet at 11:45 am with the program starting around Noon.

Both WCU head coaches Larry Hunter and Karen Middleton will be on-hand to discuss their respective basketball teams, looking ahead to this weekend's 2013 Southern Conference Basketball Championships. All 23 teams from the SoCon converge on Asheville for 21 games over four days between the Kimmel Arena at UNC Asheville and the U.S. Cellular Center in downtown Asheville.

O'Malley's Bar & Grill in Sylva continues to serve as the host of the lunch-time social that includes video highlights, chalk talk and question/answer sessions with both head coaches. Patrons are invited to order off a special O'Malley's menu, or to enjoy many of the local establishment's long-time favorites during the basketball-themed gathering.

Each luncheon is scheduled to begin at 11:45 am with both coaches arriving for a brief meet-and-greet with the official program beginning just after Noon and concluding around 1:00 pm.

Western Carolina's women travel to Davidson on Monday (March 4) night to wrap-up their regular season slate. The official women's bracket will be released following competition on Monday. The Catamount men learned their seeding over the weekend, earning the sixth-seed and will face No. 11 seed The Citadel at approximately 8:30 pm on Friday night. It's the second-straight season that WCU will face the Cadets in the opening round with WCU holding a 2-1 record against the Bulldogs all-time in the post-season event.
