North Charleston, S.C. - Western Carolina again landed a league-best three players on the post-season honorary squad today as the Southern Conference Sports Media Association (SCSMA) announced its 2007 Women's Basketball All-SoCon honorees.

Juniors Monique Dawson and Chevon Keith were named First Team All-SoCon by the voting members of the SCSMA, with sophomore Lauren Powell voted to the second team. Two days after being recognized by her coaching peers, WCU third-year head coach Kellie Harper was today selected as the league's top coach by the media.

Chattanooga forward Alex Anderson was named the 2007 Player of the Year with Georgia Southern's Carolyn Whitney tabbed the Freshman of the Year by the media.

The top-seeded Western Carolina Lady Catamounts will face No. 5 Georgia Southern at Noon in semifinal action of the 2007 Southern Conference Women's Basketball Championship at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Lady Eagles advanced with a 81-64 win over No. 4 UNC Greensboro on Thursday morning.
