Feb. 24, 2003

Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina's women's basketball game against conference rival Appalachian State on Tuesday, Feb. 25, is set for a noon tip-off. The game was rescheduled as WCU's annual Education Day after it was originally snowed out back in December.

The Ramsey Center is expecting approximately 500 area fifth and sixth graders in attendance to cheer on the Catamounts as they look for their 20th win of the season for the first time in 26 years. At 19-6, the Cats are in second place alone in the Southern Conference with a 12-4 league mark, their best ever. Should WCU defeat the Mountaineers, it would make head coach Beth Dunkenberger's 50th career victory as a Catamount and the fastest any Western women's coach had reached the milestone in WCU history.
