SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Western Carolina's Makensey Campbell, a sophomore women's basketball player, has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for February 6, the league office announced today.
Cambpell scored a season-best 18 points in the win over UNCG helping Western Carolina earn a series sweep over UNCG. The sophomore guard also tied her career-high with five three pointers, scoring 10 of her 18 points in the first half.
A biology major, Campbell currently holds a 3.98 GPA.
Campbell is the second Western Carolina student-athlete to be named Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the seek this year joining women's soccer player Laura Greb who earned the honor on October 24.
