Cullowhee, N.C. - Tiffany Hamm, a sophomore on the Western Carolina women's basketball team, will miss at least two weeks due to a stress fracture of her left tibia.

The Harlan, Ky., native had been slowed with a leg injury over the past five games. She is Western's second-leading scorer (11.3 ppg) and rebounder (6.7 rpg), while leading the team with her 39.6 3-point field goal percentage. Among the Southern Conference leaders, Hamm ranks 13th in scoring and eighth in rebounds.

Hamm, the SoCon Freshman of the Year last season, had started each of Western's first 15 games, before having her time limited due to injuries. She scored 21 points in leading the Cats to a win over Wake Forest and registered a double-double (14 points and 12 rebounds) as WCU defeated Georgia Southern for just the third time in 23 tries.

Western Carolina (13-7, 5-6 SoCon) will play at Wofford on Saturday (Feb. 2) at 3:00 pm.

The Catamounts return to the Ramsey Center on Monday (Feb. 4) for a Noon game versus Chattanooga. The game is set for Noon as all fifth and sixth graders in Jackson County will attend the game as part of "Education Day with the Catamounts." The students will come to the RAC at 10 am to learn history, geography, math and other fun subjects. Following a lunch, the students will watch WCU take on one of the top teams in the SoCon.
