Cullowhee, N.C. - Although the area is experiencing extremely cold temperatures, the recent bad weather has not affected the Cullowhee area and the basketball games this Saturday, Jan. 25, will go on as scheduled as Western Carolina is set to host its first of three doubleheaders of the season. The WCU women's basketball team will tip-off against UNC Greensboro at 4:00 pm, while the men will follow against Georgia Southern at 7:00 pm.

The Lady Catamounts are off to their best overall start (12-4) since the 1980-81 season and off to their best SoCon start ever at 5-2, good for a share of second place in the league.

Also of importance, the women's basketball Education Day, originally scheduled for Dec. 5, but postponed due to inclement weather, has been rescheduled for the Appalachian State game on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at noon.

WCU's final two doubleheaders of the season are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1, with the women and men both hosting Davidson at 4:00 and 7:00, respectively, and on Saturday, March 1, with the women hosting Furman at 4:00 and the men facing off against Chattanooga at 7:00.
