Cullowhee, N.C. - A total of 18 different golf courses are participating in this year's Catamount Golf Card, donating greens fee income as a part of the program. Purchasing a Catamount Golf Card will entitle the bearer to free or reduced green fees and the privilege to play on some of Western North Carolina's best golf courses. At the same time, proceeds from the program will help benefit the Western Carolina men's and women's golf programs.
"Raising money through this fundraiser helps both our men's and women's golf programs," said Western's Director of Golf and women's head coach, Steve Lott. "These cards allow Catamount fans to not only support our both of our golf programs, but also play some very nice courses who are generous enough to help both of our teams."
Cards are on sale now at the WCU Athletic Department in the Ramsey Center, or can be purchased by phone at (828) 227-2401 or by mail (download order form below and send to address below). Priced at just $40.00, Catamount Golf Cards are valid through Dec. 31, 2007.
Western Carolina is coming off a tremendous fall season that saw the women's team finish in the top five in five events, winning the team title at the Wachoia-Great Smokies Intercollegiate for the fifth-consecutive time, while the men posted four top five finishes with two team championships and saw junior Matt Cook named the nation's top-rated golfer and a mid-season All-American.
