Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina men’s golf team makes an appearance for the second-straight season at the Memphis Intercollegiate slated for Monday and Tuesday at the par-72, 7,235-yard Colonial Country Club in Memphis, Tenn.

The 54-hole tournament is scheduled for two rounds on Monday, Sept. 18 followed by the final round on Tuesday, Sept. 19. Live scoring of the tournament is available online through BirdieFire.

Leading WCU’s side are seniors Dylan MacQueen and Jackson Bishop. The duo is joined by junior transfer George Whitbread, making his WCU debut, with Wilkesboro, N.C., natives Chandler Metz and Zach Caudill rounding out the scoring five.

Metz led the Catamounts in his first collegiate action, finishing tied for 16th at the season-opening Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate. MacQueen paced WCU at the Memphis Intercollegiate last year, coming home tied for third overall with a three-round score of 221.

“The team is ready for another trip to Memphis and a great golf course to play in the Colonial Country Club,” said WCU head coach Tim Eckberg. “We all feel that we didn’t have our best showing in our first tournament of the season. The recent rain associated with the recent hurricane/tropical storm gave us an unexpected breather, but we’ve had some solid practice sessions and good qualifying competition since. I feel that we are ready for this week against a very solid field.”

In addition to the host Tigers and the Catamounts, the 14-team field includes Alcorn State, Arkansas State, Belmont, Fort Wayne, Georgetown, IUPUI, Little Rock, Middle Tennessee State, Stetson, Tennessee State, UT Martin, and Western Kentucky.
