Men's Golf Competes in Charleston
Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina men's golf team attended the Charleston Southern Fall Invitational on November 6-7 hosted by Charleston Southern University. The invitational took place on the rolling greens of Coosaw Creek Country Club in Charleston, S.C. It was an excellent site for the Catamount men to show their potential.
The catamounts had a fabulous showing and brought home 12th place. They played well overall against fierce competition.
Sophomore, Bryan Sanguid led the team and finished off strong against the competition coming in at 34th. He finished in the top half of over eighty competitors. He came out with a 72 in the first round and 79 in the second, which gave him a combined total of 151, nine over par.
Another Catamount who finished strong close behind Sangid was Sophomore Greg Lewis. Lewis finished 40th overall with 80 in the first round and 72 in the second with a combined total of 152.
Other Catamounts that had excellent play at the invitational were freshman Jason Huguet at 54th, juniors Jason Sugg and Lee Cline at 63rd and 67th respectively.
