FLORENCE, S.C. - Western Carolina men's golf is tied for third place with a 286, two under par, after the first round of the Southern Conference Men's Golf Championships at the Country Club of South Carolina.

Individually Catamounts Ricky Stout and Tanner Briele are both in a tie for third place with a score of 69, three under par. Dustin Furnari is tied for 18th with a 73, Andres Cuenca tied for 33rd at 75 and Martin Summer tied at 37 with a 76.

Chattanooga is in the lead with a team score of 277, 11 under par and Georgia Southern is currently in second with a 278. Furman is tied with Western Carolina at 286 and UNC Greensboro is tied for fifth with College of Charleston with both clubs five over at 293.

The championships continue on Monday.
