Seminole Intercollegiate Final Results

The Western Carolina men's golf team advanced one position in the final standings on Sunday, finishing the three-day Seminole Intercollegiate in a two-way tie for ninth place. Senior Dustin Furnari posted a 74 on the final 18 to lead the Catamounts with a 31st-place finish.
WCU finished with rounds of 304, 295 and 299 on Sunday for a three-round 898 in the highly competitive tournament.
Behind individual medalist Ryan Haselden, Vanderbilt claimed the team title by a stroke over second-place Virginia, 863-to-864. Host Florida State was five strokes off the lead in third at 868, followed by Mississippi (869) in fourth and a two-way tie for fifth between Mississippi State and Arkansas at 876.
After moving five spots on Saturday, Furnari fired a two-over 74 on Sunday to advance one additional spot for his 31st-place finish, one stroke ahead of classmate Andres Cuenca who shot 79 on the final round to slip into a tie for 32nd.
Junior Tanner Briele finished tied for 47th at 227, with Drew Miller posting the team's best round of the day, 72, to move into a tie for 51st. Junior Ricky Stout rounded out WCU's scorers in a tie for 58th.
Western Carolina returns to action March 27-29 at the Furman Intercollegiate which will be played at the Furman Golf Club in Greenville, S.C.
