WCU turns attention to 2013 SoCon Championship next weekend

2011-12 (Sophomore): Only competed in one event on the season after suffering a hip flexor strain that sidelined him the remainder of the season ... Played two of the three rounds of the season-opening Spring Hill Suites Intercollegiate (Sept., 2011) before withdrawing in the final round due to the injury ... Granted a medical hardship redshirt for his sophomore season.
2010-11 (Freshman): Competed in all 11 events as a true freshman, leading the squad once with his career-best finish at the Samford Intercollegiate (Spring 2011) ... Posted consecutive rounds of 74 to finish tied for 18th to lead the Catamounts at the rain-shortened Samford Intercollegiate ... Ranked second on the team with his seasonal scoring average of 77.32, which ranked tied for 54th in school history ... Shot 71 in his opening round as a collegiate at The Invitational at the Ocean Course (Fall 2010) before posting a career-best round of 70 in the second round of the Mason Rudolph Championship ... Finished tied for 51st at his first Southern Conference Championship.
Prior to Western: Entered the Catamount golf program with a long list of impressive tournament results, highlighted by play in the summer of 2010 by becoming the 60th Carolina's Junior Champion, firing rounds of 67-73-74 to edge out the best juniors in both North and South Carolina ... Additionally posted runner-up finishes at the 2009 Jimmy Self and Junior Rice Planters Championships, while also participating in the 2009 Carolinas/Virginia matches ... Was ranked as the 11th-ranked junior player in the state of South Carolina prior to his senior season ... In his prep career at Dutch Fork HS, was All-Region three-straight years, named All-State as a junior and part of three-consecutive, 4-A State Championship teams.
