2012-13 (Freshman): As the lone freshman on the roster, competed in five of WCU's 11 seasonal events, three in the fall and two in the spring ... Was one of just two Catamounts to lead the team in tournament play, helping guide WCU to a runner-up finish at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate (Nov., 2012) with his career-best finish of tied for fourth with consecutive career-low rounds of 71 ... Prior to Western Carolina: Ranked among the top 20 among all boy's golfers in the state of North Carolina - and was eighth out of the class of 2012 ... Lail was a four-time All-Catawba Valley Athletic 2-A Conference (CCAC) selection including league Player of the Year honors as a junior ... Also garnered All-State plaudits as a junior, finishing as the runner-up in the state 2-A West Regional ... Placed 10th in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Cleveland Healthcare Junior by posting rounds of 70, 72 and 70 ... Finished in an eighth-place tie at the AJGA Woodward Video Junior with rounds of 72 and 68, while recording a top 10 finish at the AJGA Preseason at St. James, a top 15 in the Dogwood Junior Championship and a top 20 showing in the North Carolina Junior Championship ...
