2013-14 (Sophomore): Played in six of WCU's 10 seasonal events as a part of the scoring five ... Ranked second on the team with a seasonal scoring average of 75.44, ranking 49th in the Southern Conference ... 16 of his 18 seasonal rounds were carded in the 70s including three rounds under par with a season-low round of 70 in the season-opening Golfweek Program Challenge ... Placed in a tie for 21st at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate ... Finished in a season-best tie for 15th at the 2014 SoCon Championship.
2012-13 (Freshman): As the lone freshman on the roster, competed in five of WCU's 11 seasonal events, three in the fall and two in the spring ... Posted 1,076 strokes through 14 rounds for a scoring average of 76.86, fifth on the squad ... Was one of just two Catamounts to lead the team in tournament play, helping guide WCU to a runner-up finish at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate (Nov., 2012) with his career-best finish of tied for fourth with consecutive career-low rounds of 71 ... Made his collegiate debut at the season-opening Golfweek Program Challenge (Sept., 2012) ... Finished with three rounds of 72-or-better ... Won the 18th hole to halve his match against Appalachian State's Jake Williams giving WCU the victory in the head-to-head University Cup match-play competition ... Named to the 2012-13 Southern Conference Honor Roll.
Prior to Western Carolina: Ranked among the top 20 among all boy's golfers in the state of North Carolina - and was eighth out of the class of 2012 ... Lail was a four-time All-Catawba Valley Athletic 2-A Conference (CCAC) selection including league Player of the Year honors as a junior ... Also garnered All-State plaudits as a junior, finishing as the runner-up in the state 2-A West Regional ... Placed 10th in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Cleveland Healthcare Junior by posting rounds of 70, 72 and 70 ... Finished in an eighth-place tie at the AJGA Woodward Video Junior with rounds of 72 and 68, while recording a top 10 finish at the AJGA Preseason at St. James, a top 15 in the Dogwood Junior Championship and a top 20 showing in the North Carolina Junior Championship ... In June of 2011, he finished third in the Greater Hickory High School Challenge at Rock Barn - an event won by current Catamount teammate, J.T. Poston ...
