Became just the second men's golfer in Western Carolina history to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA post-season ... 2012-13 (Sophomore): Led Western Carolina in 10 of the 11 seasonal events ... Paced the squad with a scoring average of 72.19, a mark which ranked SECOND in the Southern Conference and ranks THIRD on WCU's all-time, single-season scoring record books - now has two of WCU's Top 10 best single-season stroke averages (9th as a freshman, 73.55) ... In three-consecutive tournaments, recorded career-best finishes including fourth at the Saint Mary's Invitational, third at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate and tied for second at the N.C. During the summer, won the 98th annual Southwestern Amateur held on the 7,412-yard Nicklaus Signature Renegade Course at the Desert Mountain Club ... He opened with a round of 69 and followed with a pair of 71s in the second and third rounds before shooting a final-round of five-under par 65 for a total of four-under par, 276, rallying six places in the final standings to earn the come-from-behind win ... Prior to Western Carolina: Was a three-time All-Catawba Valley Conference (CVAC) selection and a two-time North Carolina High School 3-A State Individual Champion ... Set a couple of North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) records in winning the state 3-A golf championship as his one-round score of 63 was the lowest ever shot for 18 holes in the state championship, and his 36-hole score of 13-under, 131, was also a new state tournament record ... His brilliant performance earned him a mention in the "Faces In The Crowd" section of the May 23rd Sports Illustrated ... Became the second-consecutive Catamount incoming freshman to win the junior national Big "I" Championship, carding a six-under 282 (72-69-70-71) at the Reunion Golf and Country Club in Mississippi to win the honors (WCU signee Greg Bunner won the 2010 event) ... Named the 2010 Northwest 3A/4A Conference Player of hte Year ... As a high school junior, was ranked 14th in the state of North Carolina and was ranked 16th as a senior ... Played in the 2010 Big "I" National, firing rounds of 73-76-71-74 to finish tied for 12th overall ... Other top amateur career finishes include a fifth-place tie at the 2009 North Carolina Junior Championship and tied for 17th at the 2010 Dogwood State Junior.
