Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina junior defensive end Steven Nace, who was injured during the fourth quarter of the Chattanooga game on Saturday, was released from the hospital Saturday evening. Although Nace had feeling and movement while on the field after the injury, he was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures. The Suwanee, Ga., native will not play at VMI, but will be available for the match-up against SoCon rival Appalachian State on Nov. 16.

Western Carolina will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 2 at VMI. The game will mark the last time the two schools will meet in Southern Conference action, as the Keydets will join the Big South Conference next season after being a SoCon member since 1924. Kickoff at Alumni Memorial Stadium is set for 1:00 pm.
