Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina will hold its second Catamount Coaches Luncheon of the season -- the first in Cullowhee -- on Monday (Sept. 22) beginning at 11:45 am in the First Floor Hospitality Room of the Ramsey Center. WCU head football coach, Dennis Wagner -- fresh off the Catamounts' 23-21 road win over Presbyterian on Saturday -- is slated to be the featured speaker.
Also, head women's soccer coach Tammy DeCesare, who guided the Catamounts to a 1-0 shutout victory over No. 20 South Carolina at home on Sunday afternoon, will stop by for a few words.
Throughout the remainder of the fall, luncheons will be held weekly between two rotating locations - in Waynesville and on-campus in the first floor Hospitality Room of the Ramsey Center. Every first and third Monday, the luncheons will be held in Waynesville, with Cullowhee hosting the luncheons on the second and fourth Monday's (For a complete schedule, please see below).
The Cullowhee luncheons will begin just before Noon with a cost of $8.00 per person for the buffet-style meal with Coach Wagner to begin his talk around 12:15 pm. (It is requested that fans RSVP the week prior to the Ramsey Center hosting by calling (828) 227-7338.)
The weekly luncheons in Waynesville, hosted by Mr. Sam Freeman, will take place in the Birdie Lounge at the Waynesville Country Club. Those in attendance will be able to order off the menu around Noon, with Coach Wagner to speak at approximately 12:30 pm.
Western Carolina is building upon the success of the weekly "Catamount Coaches' Luncheons," which started two years ago during basketball season and expanded a year ago to include the fall sports.
The Catamount football team is on the road this Saturday as it visits the South Carolina Lowcountry and newly-renovated Johnson Hagood Stadium in Charleston to square-off against The Citadel. WCU has dropped four-straight to the Bulldogs
Kickoff on Saturday is set for 1:00 pm.
