Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina's football game at 11th-ranked Georgia on Saturday, Sept. 15 will kickoff at 1:00 pm at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga., and will be available as a pay-per-view broadcast by Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS), it was announced this week.
Viewers may order the game through their local, participating cable provider for $29.99. The game will be made available to cable providers throughout the state. Matt Stewart will handle the play-by-play duties, while former Georgia quarterback Buck Belue will provide the analysis.
CSS - which will televise a pair of WCU's football games at Georgia Southern (Sept. 29) and at home against Furman (Nov. 17) is a 24-hour regional sports network serving approximately 5.8 million cable subscribers across 12 states.
Western Carolina (0-1) ventures back into NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) play this weekend visiting No. 48 Eastern Kentucky (according to The Sports Network poll) at Roy Kidd Stadium in Richmond, Ky.
The game will be broadcast by the Catamount Sports Network (CSN) across five radio stations in Western North Carolina: WWCU, Power 90dot5 in Cullowhee; 680 AM WRGC in Sylva; 1480 AM WPFJ in Franklin; 1590 AM WBHN in Bryson City; and 1600 AM WTZQ in Hendersonville. There are also two online options at www.WWCUFM.com and www.WRGC.com. Air time on Saturday is 5:00 pm, with kickoff slated for 6:00 pm.
Also, audio and video of the game will be streamed over the Internet at OVCSports.tv. Fans can access the event stream for $5.95 by CLICKING HERE.
For those fans traveling to Richmond, Western Carolina's Catamount Club is sponsoring a pre-game social this Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Madison Garden Restaurant and Pub (152 North Madison Ave.) from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
There is no charge for the Dutch Treat event, presented by Catamount Club social hosts Mr. Richard McCellan and Mr. Paul Jones.
