Catamount Football to Host the Annual Meet the Cats Scrimmage on Wednesday, Aug. 22

Aug. 14, 2007

Cullowhee, N.C. - The 2007 Meet the Cats event will begin at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the E. J. Whitmire Stadium on campus at Western Carolina University. This event is free and open to the general public.

The early evening activities will give everyone an opportunity to meet the 2007 Catamount Football team and get autographs, pictures and souvenirs. At 7:00 pm, the final WCU football scrimmage will demonstrate the team's renewed vigor that has everyone optimistic for the upcoming season. The Stadium Store and Concessions will be open for business, and there will be free pizza from Papa's Pizza of Cullowhee (while supplies last).

Also, season three of "In the Litterbox" -- a weekly interactive talk show produced by WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 -- is set to begin with the second-consecutive live-on-location season premiere. "ITL" will be broadcasting live on-location from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm from Whitmire Stadium.

Meet the Cats is a family-friendly experience. The community is cordially invited to drop by with friends, family, children, and grandchildren. Catamount Football, western North Carolina's NCAA Division I college football team, is a member of the Southern Conference.
