WCU Football Season Ticket Sales Picking Up; Seat Choices Narrowing

Cullowhee, N.C. -- While the Western Carolina football program has just its third practice of the 2004 season on Wednesday, tomorrow (Aug. 12) will mark just three weeks until the Catamounts will host West Virginia State in the 2004 season opener (Sept. 2 at 7 pm).

The 2004 Western Carolina football season ticket sales are in full gear as one word -- "exciting" -- keeps coming up when talking about the 2004 football campaign. While the Cats did lose seven players who were named All-Southern Conference last season, the Western coaching staff is pleased with the newcomers (both transfers and freshmen) and feels the team may be deeper at each position this fall than last.

While good seats still remain, those who have yet to renew their seats from last year may in be danger of having to choose alternate seats. Fans are encouraged to buy or renew their season ticket packages soon as sell outs are expected for several contests, including Hall of Fame and Family Weekend versus Georgia Southern (Oct. 9), Homecoming versus Chattanooga (Oct. 23) and the home finale versus Appalachian State. Single game tickets and tickets for WCU's road games are also still available.

For more information, visit the Western Carolina official website at www.catamountsports.com or call the WCU ticket office at (800) 34-GO-WCU.
